Day 01, Delhi- Agra :Today the plush Maharaja Express waits for you at the Safdarjung Railway Station of Delhi. After completing the formalities and a warm traditional greeting, you embark on a journey to the fascinating city of Agra. After breakfast and lunch at the train, you step down at Agra to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Taj Mahal. With its pure white marble structure and floral prints, this memorial of love is a treat to the eyes. Explore the intricate designs, carvings of semi-precious stones as the edifice changes colour with the different phases of the day. Later you may get back to the train to rest at the comfort of your suite or know the amazing love story of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal at the light and sound show of Mohabbat. Dinner and overnight stay at the train.
Day 02, Agra – Ranthambhore : Today after breakfast you visit the ‘draft’ of Taj Mahal, the tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daula and Agra Fort. This is first Indian tomb to be completely built with marble. You also visit the red sandstone built, Agra Fort. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is no less than a city; with its palatial palaces, like the Palace of Mirrors (Sheesh Mahal), Khas Marble and the breathtakingly beautiful meadow of Anguri Bagh, the city portrays the opulent lifestyle of the Mughal emperors.
Later in the day the train leaves for SawaiMadhopur. After arrival, you are taken to the Ranthambore National Park. While the Royal Bengal tigers rule the forest, leopards and hyenas stroll in own mood here. The varied grasslands of the park is a paradise for the numerous species of deer (sambar, chital) while Nilgai, civets and mongoose roam about coolly. Ranthambhore is a heaven for bird watchers as the kingfishers, woodpeckers, ibis, pelicans, storks, cuckoos and sandpipers fill the forests with melodious tweets. Next you return to Maharaja Express as the next phase of the journey begins. Savour world class cuisines at the dining car of Maharaja Express and slumber on your soft bed.
Day 03, Jaipur: Today you wake up to bask in the colours of Rajasthan at the Pink City of Jaipur. After breakfast at the train you get down to enjoy a regal ride on a decked up elephant to the Amber Fort. The artistic gateways, halls with mosaic glass work and exquisite glass paintings reflect the art loving character of the gallant Rajput clan. You are also taken to the 18th century observatory, Jantar Mantar which treasures the largest sundial along with other unique astronomical instruments. You may skip this and opt for a rejuvenating spa treatment at the Palace hotel, enjoy shopping the vibrant boutique apparels, jewellery and leather shoes or enjoy some quality time playing golf at the Rambagh golf course. After lunch you may spent some fun time at Jal Mahal, playing with the baby elephants and painting these cool creatures. Get close to culture of Rajasthan with dance programmes at evening.Maharaja Express leaves for Delhi at night. There is an overnight stay at the train.
Day 04, Delhi: Today after breakfast you off-board the train as the trip comes to an end.
